In 2021 7GA was recruited to assist AltaSea, to assess and evaluate their operations and help to make recommendations for its future activities. AltaSea, located at the Port of Los Angeles is dedicated to accelerating scientific collaboration, advancing an emerging blue economy through business innovation and job creation, and inspiring the next generation, all for a more sustainable, just and equitable world.
7GA drew on its own non-profit, government, philanthropic, and investment expertise to draft a report that outlined recommendations moving forward. 7GA conducted interviews with 65 of these stakeholders, and reviewed all of the organizations’ documents, their history and worked closely with staff to move forward with a vision. Our Plan to accelerate AltaSea’s development was adopted by its Board and we secured a $6m grant from the State of California for restoration of their historic warehouse.
